an entirely expected side effect of me whipping out my old external HDD is that now I AM going to rewatch basically the entirety of my canon game of Inquisition that I had mostly recorded back in like '15-'16, and get my heart torn right out again by this damn guy making this damn face

#squirrel plays dragon age #dorian pavus #turn that frown on your expressive-ass face upside down or i swear i'll get my guy to kiss it off you #and THEN you'll be sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#anyway i just rewatched the trespasser scenes and that “*you* are the man i love; amatus” took me out for a solid two seconds #clutching my chest; i am once again claimed by the sickness folks #going from “you learn not to hope for more; you'd be foolish to” to “nothing will truly keep us apart” is just.... chef's kiss #.... and yeah i'm more and more sure as time goes on that they were fully setting him up to be a returning character #whether it actually winds up happening or not; i feel like the setup is very deliberate #just by virtue of him leaving no matter what; even though in a romance he clearly doesn't want to and even says as much?#with the lines implying that he had more or less promised the inquisitor that he would stay?#it feels very intentional. like they were trying to make the ending of the romance satisfying and open to be continued #WHILE making sure that he is where he needs to be for the plot

#favourite lyrics #billy joel #big shot #1978 #52nd street #the opener to Joel's 1978 album (and getting a single release the following year) this catty little number marked a significant moment in #the singer singwriter's career. 52nd Street would be Joel's first album to top the Billboard 200‚ won a handful a grammys and was one of #the first albums ever released on CD a couple of years later. Joel had wanted a slightly new sound to differentiate the album from his #previous studio efforts‚ and hired a slew of talented jazz musicians to help him craft something different. this isn't perhaps the track #that shows the clearest growth in his sound‚ but its swaggering‚ sneering‚ heavy in your face delivery and spiky guitar are a hell of a way #to open an album. Joel has variously claimed to have been inspired by a meeting with Bianca Jagger or that there's no truth in that rumour‚#depending i suspect on his mood when asked; he's also admitted to a certain amount of autobiography to the lyrics‚ and i buy that #personally (it's very easy to read a kind of self hating monologue to the mirror kind of vibe into the song imo). a sly take down of social #poseurs and the nouveau riche of late 70s New York (later lyrics name drop Elaine's and Halston)‚ i particularly like the quick switch in #tone in these opening lines: chauffeured limousines and designer clothes quickly giving way to the seedy detail of the coke spoon in the #nose. there's little sympathy from Joel who strikes a provocative vocal style‚ particularly for the chorus which is enunciated so clearly #it could almost be being spat out. Big Shot was the second single from 52nd Street and was‚ like the album‚ a commercial success #peaking at number 14 (his third highest charting single at this point). afaik it didn’t have a uk release tho‚ alas

Tired of seeing fic on ao3 claiming to be based off dune the book series when it’s very obvious that the writer has only seen dune the movie(s).

Yes, it matters. Yes, these are very different works. You’re probably doing this for visibility; I don’t care. Archive Of Our Own is a fucking archive, stop labeling your works with a tag you know is factually incorrect. It makes it impossible for me to filter for fics I want to read.

thought i'd do something different for this today :^) i'm working on a powerpoint (inspired by ezra velocitic thank u for the idea ^-^) to hopefully one day be able to explain the cyberpunk extended blorboverse that red reaperkiller and i have been working on for over a year now! it also includes my own story with vincent and his friends since the two stories eventually come together sometime in 2083 and 2084 (yeah i know the game is called 2077 i don't care leve me aloe). here's some slides to give you an idea of what kind of lore to expect :^)

Any thoughts on Scar’s twinkification in 03 compared to the manga?

At no point in time have I ever concerned myself with the design differences between 03 Scar and manga Scar, and I still don't care now. In general the source material and how my preferred adaptation differs from it has never had an impact on my love for the 2003 anime, and this is no less true about Scar.

#there's a second ask on this exact topic that's a bit more detailed so i'll respond with greater detail for that one #i could get into how i find fans' insistence that 03 scar is a twink silly at best but at this point i might be the #only person on earth who doesn't see anything twink in this version of this dude #(i get this can all be relative but broho scar has a harder more rugged face than even manga scar but i don't see anyone claim #that broho de-twinkified manga scar for the 2009 anime so *shrugs*)#guess people use twink to mean pretty boy and that's about as deep as it gets so. eh. c'est la vie #this may come across as brusque but there's no ill intent or animosity towards you anon #ask #scar fma #fma #fma 03
